Institution Notes:

A state-supported university founded in 1885 as a teachers’ college. It gained its current name and status in 1956. The music department is housed in the Peck School of the Arts complex which offers programs in art and design, dance, music and theatre. This complex forms part of the Helene Zelazo Center for the Performing Arts and offers a number of fine performing spaces. There is a flourishing opera program. On campus is the Leonard Sorkin International Institute of Chamber Music and the home of the Fine Arts Quartet. A pre-college division of the music department organises a Suzuki guitar program for children and young people. Member of the National Association of Schools of Music.
