Bachelor of Arts in Music. Four years. Studies include performance, music history, ethnomusicology, theory, aural skills. Bachelor of Fine Arts. Four years. Music studies include performance (classical, jazz, opera, music theatre), music history & literature, composition & music technology, music education (with choral and instrumental conducting).
Master of Music. In performance, collaborative piano, chamber music, choral, wind and orchestral conducting, theory/composition, music history & literature, music education, string pedagogy. Master of Music in Library and Information Science. In music librarianship.

A state-supported university founded in 1885 as a teachers’ college. It gained its current name and status in 1956. The music department is housed in the Peck School of the Arts complex which offers programs in art and design, dance, music and theatre. This complex forms part of the Helene Zelazo Center for the Performing Arts and offers a number of fine performing spaces. There is a flourishing opera program. On campus is the Leonard Sorkin International Institute of Chamber Music and the home of the Fine Arts Quartet. A pre-college division of the music department organises a Suzuki guitar program for children and young people. Member of the National Association of Schools of Music.
