Institution Notes:

A state-supported university founded in 1848. It is the flagship campus of the University of Wisconsin System. There is an active early music group. Facilities include a state-of-the-art Center for Music Technology. The music school maintains an instrument shop with a huge collection of more than 1,200 instruments, and owns a Javanese gamelan. The Mills Music Library holds some special collections including Americana, music theatre and ethnomusicology materials. The University website features free audio streaming of many live concerts, available to anyone in the world, 24 hours a day. Music performance lessons are offered to children and interested adult members of the local community. Member of the National Association of Schools of Music.
