Institution Notes:
This state-supported University was founded in 1871 as a teachers’ college. It gained its current name and status in 2004. The music department has access to some fine performance spaces. The School of Music organises a Community Music School that offers music programs and tuition to children, young people and interested members of the local community. There are also summer Jazz and String Orchestra Camps for middle school and high school students. Member of the National Association of Schools of Music.
