Bachelor of Arts in Music. Four years. Studies in performance (classical, jazz), composition, music history, ethnomusicology, theory, electronic and computer music.
Institution Notes:
A private university founded in 1821. The Bachelor of Arts program in music is also offered at the Mount Vernon campus. The Department of Music is an All-Steinway School. There is a Presidential Arts Program in Music. Member of the National Association of Schools of Music. A Consortium of Universities of the Washington Metropolitan Area extends the academic resources of students. Should a student wish to take a course not offered at the home campus a system of cross-registration enables the student to take the course at another Consortium institution, gaining credit at the home institution. The University of Maryland, College Park is also a member of the Consortium, being in close proximity to the Washington DC area.
