Institution Notes:
A state-supported university founded in 1930 as a division of the College of William and Mary. It became independent in 1962 and gained its current name and status in 1969. The music department is housed in the F Ludwig Diehn Fine and Performing Arts Center. Facilities include a fine recital hall and state-of-the-art electronic/computer laboratories and recording facilities.
