Details:
Bachelor of Arts in Music. Four years. Studies may include performance (classical, jazz, traditional instruments), composition, theory, electroacoustic music, songwriting, music history, world music, sound design and recording, instrument building.
Institution Notes:
A private non-sectarian college, emphasizing individual creativity in all students. It was founded in 1932 as a college for women, and became co-educational in 1969. Students design their own individual degree plan in consultation with academic advisors according to their own particular interest in music and within the limits of what constitutes a legitimate degree. The Schonbeck Instrumentarium organises an instrument building program. All students are required to spend six weeks per year in field work associated with their studies.
