Master of Arts in Arts Leadership. Master of Music. In performance, collaborative piano, choral, wind band and orchestral conducting, opera performance, composition, theory, musicology, music education, performance and pedagogy, sacred music. Doctor of Musical Arts.


Institution Notes:

A state-assisted university. Founded in 1927, it gained its current name and status in 1934. Facilities include the 144,000 square feet Rebecca and John J Moores School of Music building which includes the 800-seat Edythe Bates Old Moores Opera Center, more than sixty practice rooms and large ensemble rehearsal rooms. The Fine Arts building houses a 250-seat recital hall, a 100-seat organ performance hall and organ practice rooms. There is some emphasis on both early and contemporary music. A preparatory and continuing studies program offers instruction in music for young children and interested adults as well as a Suzuki violin program, summer Kodály training and workshops for church musicians. Member of the National Association of Schools of Music.
