Details:
Bachelor of Arts in Music. Four years. Concentrations in performance (classical, jazz), composition, music education (with choral and instrumental conducting). Studies include music history, theory, aural skills.
Institution Notes:
An historically black institution founded in 1947, though it can trace its history back to 1935. It gained its current name and status in 1951. The Department of Fine Arts has divisions of art, music and theatre, the music division having access to some fine performing spaces. There is an active opera program.
