Bachelor of Arts in Music. Four years. A concentration in performance (classical, jazz). Studies in music history, theory. Minors in African-American Studies, Religious Studies.
Institution Notes:
A historically black liberal arts and sciences university formed in 1952 by the merger of Samuel Huston College and Tillotson College. It gained its current name and status in 2005. The university is affiliated with the United Methodist Church, the United Church of Christ and the United Negro College Fund. The music department is housed in the Jackson-Moody Humanities Building. There is a thriving jazz program.
