Institution Notes:

A state-supported university founded in 1886. The music department has access to several fine performing spaces and well-equipped electronic studios. An active opera program operates on campus. There is a Kodály Institute offering programs to Levels I, II and III. The Southeast Center for Education in the Arts is located on the campus, conducting research into how arts education and arts integration can enhance learning and transform schools. It conducts professional development programs for teachers. The Cadek Conservatory of Music, founded in 1904, is a non-degree-granting auxiliary of the University of Tennessee Department of Music. It offers music programs to children and interested members of the local community, specialising in Suzuki violin, viola, ‘cello and piano methods and Kindermusik. The Piano Klass Kid’s ‘n Keyboards group piano program is for beginning students aged 6 to 8 years. Member of the National Association of Schools of Music.
