Institution Notes:
A professional school of music in an independent liberal arts institution originally for women. Formerly known as Converse College it became co-educational and was granted its current name and status in 2021. The School of the Arts offers programs in art and design, theatre, dance and music. The Petrie School of Music runs the Converse Opera Theatre and has access to some fine performance spaces. It is an All-Steinway School. The Lawson Academy of the Arts provides tuition in performance, ensemble and basic theory to young children and interested adults; some use is made of the Suzuki approach.
