Institution Notes:
A private college of arts and sciences founded as Albany Collegiate Institute in 1867 and gained its current name and status in 1942. Facilities include a well-equipped electronic music studio, some fine performance spaces, a Javanese gamelan and a collection of Japanese, Indian and Javanese instruments and African drums. A Community College offers music lessons to children and interested membeers of the local community. Member of the National Association of Schools of Music.
