Details:
Bachelor of Arts in Music. Four years. Emphases in performance (classical, opera), composition, music history and culture, music education (with choral and instrumental conducting). Studies include theory, aural skills, music technology. Dance programs are available.
Institution Notes:
A private liberal arts institution of Baptist heritage that can trace its history back to 1858. Formerly known at Linfield College, it gained its current name and status in 2020. There are campuses in McMinnville and Portland, the music program being offered at McMinnville. The Department of Music is housed in the Vivian Bull Music Center and and has a well-equipped music technology/music education laboratory. There is a flourishing opera program as well as a musicians’ health and welfare policy. Member of the National Association of Schools of Music.
