It is housed in three buildings: the Catlett Music Centre, the Donald W Reynolds Performing Arts Center, and Carpenter Hall, giving it access to a number of fine performance spaces including several performance halls and an opera theatre. In addition, facilities include a media centre, the Ruby Grant piano pedagogy resource centre, four rehearsal suites, two MIDI laboratories, state-of-the-art recording and electronic music studios and the fine arts library. There are over 100 pianos, several pipe organs and a number of historical instruments. Regular Kodály certificate summer courses are offered. The Gail Boyd de Stwolinski Center for Music Theory Pedagogy was established in 1985 to collect and disseminate information concerning the teaching and learning of music theory.
