An active program of performance in instrumental and choral groups, small group interaction, Brazilian style dance, jazz and popular music is organised, with interaction between Brazilian and exchange students.

Established in 1934, the University of São Paulo is a public university with several campuses throughout the state of São Paulo. A music program is offered at the Ribeirão Preto campus, brought into being as a result of an exchange program between the music departments of the American University of New Hampshire and the Ribeirão Preto campus of the University of São Paulo. The aim of the music department is to produce students who are employable in the community. The library holds collections of the works of Brazilian composers.
