Institution Notes:

A state-supported university founded in 1872 as the Toledo University of Arts and Trades. It became a member of the State university system in 1967. The music department operates an active opera program and has close relationships with the Toledo opera, the Toledo ballet and Murphy's Jazz. It is virtually an All-Steinway School. There is a Community Music Program offering music tuition to interested members of the local community. Member of the National Association of Schools of Music.
