Institution Notes:

A state-supported university founded in 1809, and named for the Miami Indian tribe that inhabited the area. The College of Creative Arts offers programs in art, music, theatre and architecture, and interior design. There is a flourishing opera program. Facilities include well-equipped music technology and electronic music studios. The Department of Music organises the Virginia Pearce Glick Young Musician’s Program, with tuition in violin, viola and ‘cello for students from age 5, using methods of Orff, Suzuki and Colour Strings. Member of the National Association of Schools of Music.
