Institution Notes:
A small private university founded in 1830, supported by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America. The Conservatory has access to several fine performance spaces and houses a state-of-the-art MIDI-based electronic music studio. There is an active opera program. It has ties with the Kodály Institute at Kecskemét, Hungary. In addition to the professional programs the Conservatory provides music tuition to young people and interested members of the local community. It also organises a band director's workshop and runs a program of Kodály certification for school music teachers. There is a summer program in Suzuki method. Member of the National Association of Schools of Music.
