A co-educational liberal arts university in the Jesuit Catholic tradition, founded in 1831. The music department is housed in Edgecliff Hall. In the undergraduate liberal arts program all students are required to take studies in philosophy, theology, history, mathematics, science, social science, English literature and a foreign language in addition to their major emphasis - often requiring additional study during the summer period.
