Institution Notes:
A state-supported university founded in 1910 as a teachers’ college. The music library houses The Sound Recording Archives, with over 700,000 recordings covering all types and styles of music, as well as the Archives of the MidAmerican Center for Contemporary Music, with large numbers of scores, many in manuscript. There are state-of-the-art electroacoustic studios and a recording studio. The Creative Arts Program offers music tuition to children and interested members of the local community.
