Institution Notes:
A state-supported university that can trace its history back to 1883. The Faculty of Fine Arts offers programs in music, visual arts and theatre. There is a flourishing opera program. The music department houses the Lawrence Welk collection of scores, manuscripts and arrangements of popular music from the first half of the twentieth century.
