Institution Notes:

An independent institution, one of the USA’s most renowned research universities, founded in 1850 as a Baptist-sponsored institution. There are two campuses for music at the University of Rochester. The Eastman School of Music caters principally for students undertaking full music major courses. The Arthur Satz Department of Music (in the School of Arts & Sciences) tends to serve the needs of music students seeking broader experiences by engaging with musics outside the areas of most Western traditions. There is much collaboration between students of both campuses, particularly in ensemble participation and in access to library resources.
