Bachelor of Fine Arts. Four years: • in Collaborative Arts. Programs in a variety of artistic disciplines to stimulate new ways of creating and thinking about art in more than one medium. Basic elements comprise performance studies, movement and acting, visual art, filmmaking, emerging media and technology, music production, playwriting, screenwriting and the like. • in Recorded Music. Collaborative programs involving musicians, sound engineers, game designers and media artists in the art and commerce of creating and selling recorded music. Offered through the Clive Davis Institute of Recorded Music.

Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program. Two years. The program involves collaboration between writers and musicians to produce an opera or music theatre performance.


Institution Notes:

The Tisch School of the Arts was founded in 1965 to provide training in theatre and film. There are programs in a variety of artistic disciplines including dance, musical theatre writing and cinema studies offered through the three divisions of the School: the Institute of Performing Arts, the Institute of Emerging Media, and the Maurice Kanbar Institute for Film & Television. The Clive Davis Institute of recorded music, and the graduate musical theatre writing program. There is an active involvement in study abroad programs.
