Institution Notes:

City College is the largest college of the City University of New York, and can trace its history back more than 170 years. The music department is housed in Shepard Hall and has access to several fine performing spaces. There is a state-of-the-art Sonic Arts Center. The library has significant collections of recordings of ethnic music, jazz, Latin American and Indian music. The City University of New York (CUNY) was founded in 1961.
