Institution Notes:

The college can trace its history back to 1822. It became part of the State University of New York system in 1948. A 'Musical Journeys Program' was established in 2005 to offer music training to children and interested members of the local community. There is a thriving program of opera. Member of the National Association of Schools of Music.
