Details:

Diploma. Issued to all who complete the eight-year course. Years 1 to 4 are pre-professional, years 5 to 8 form the professional course. Studies in performance (classical, popular, early music, viola caipira), theory, composition and arranging, music history, music in Brazil, theory, music technology. A music teacher training course is available.

Institution Notes:

The School can trace its history back to 1962. While it offers music training to young people from age 8 and to interested adults in evening courses, years 5 to 8 are regarded as being at professional level. Classes are held for visually handicapped students, with some use of Braille notation. The School holds an annual summer international course for musicians in various fields.
