Institution Notes:

An independent college established as a unit of the City University of New York in 1968. The music department is housed in the Center for the Performing Arts. The Music Technology Center houses state-of-the-art equipment for electronic music and digital audio recording. It maintains a firm involvement with music in the surrounding community. Most music students here are more mature than average. Recommended high school seniors are eligible for advanced placement in college through the High School Seniors at Lehman program. The City University of New York (CUNY) was founded in 1961. It consists of 20 Colleges at which music is offered in eleven.
