The university was founded in 1946 and gained its current name and status in 1965. The Anderson Center for the Performing Arts is among the finest facilities of its kind in central New York State. The university library holds an archive for Greek and Cypriot Ethnomusicological Studies. Member of the National Association of Schools of Music.
