Institution Notes:

A state-supported university founded in 1905 as a teachers’ college. It gained its current name and status in 2005. Facilities include a number of fine performing spaces and a state-of-the-art electronic music studio in the Juanita K Hammons Hall for the Performing Arts. The Library houses a collection of Broadway musical theatre scores. A joint project of the Department of Music and the Springfield-Greene County Library is the Max Hunter Collection - an archive of almost 1600 Ozark Mountain folk songs recorded between 1956 and 1976. Member of the National Association of Schools of Music.
