Institution Notes:
A private Christian liberal arts college related to the Mississippi Baptist Convention. Founded in 1826, it is the oldest college in Mississippi and the second oldest Baptist college in the United States. The School of Christian Studies and the Arts offers programs in art, Christian studies, communication and music. The music department has access to a number of fine performing spaces. The Taylor School is the preparatory division of the department of music. It provides performance tuition for children and interested adult members of the local community.
