Bachelor of Arts in Music. Four years. Emphases in performance, composition. Studies include music history, theory, aural skills, music technology.


Institution Notes:

A private liberal arts university, founded in 1876 and supported by the Christian Reformed Church in North America. Formerly known as Calvin College, it gained its current name and status in 2019. Facilities include the Fine Arts Center which houses a fine 1000-seat auditorium, an up-to-date computer laboratory, practice rooms and the Leo Cayvan Chamber Music Library. The music department owns many instruments including a 49-rank tracker action Dobson organ in the chapel, a 39-rank tracker action Schlicker organ, two harpsichords by Keith Hill, many historical instruments (including viols and recorders), as well as a number of band and orchestral instruments. The University is home to the Calvin Institute of Christian Worship - a centre for research, conferences, publications and training for leadership in worship. Member of the National Association of Schools of Music.
