Institution Notes:
A state-supported university founded in 1956. It was originally known as Louisiana State University in New Orleans and gained its current name and status in 1974. The Performing Arts Center houses the departments of music and film, theatre, and communication arts, and contains some fine performing spaces and well-equipped studios and laboratories. Facilities include a state-of-the-art Music Education Resource Center. Member of the National Association of Schools of Music.
