Institution Notes:

The University was founded in 1938 as the Lake Charles Junior College. It gained its current name and status in 1970. The W.A. and Dorothy Hanna Department of Performing Arts offers programs in music and theatre. Facilities include well-equipped music technology studios. There is a flourishing opera and music theatre program. The Kodály Institute At McNeese State University has held regular summer institutes since 1999. Member of the National Association of Schools of Music.
