Institution Notes:
A private theological seminary founded in 1859 and supported by the Southern Baptist Convention. The Seminary School of the Arts offers music programs and individual lessons to interested persons in the local community. The school has several early keyboard instruments and seven organs. The music division of the James P Boyce Centennial Library holds, in addition to a vast collection of books, scores and recordings, over 100,000 anthems in multiple copies as well as over 17,000 single reference copies of other anthems. It also holds the Converse Collection of Hymnology. Member of the National Association of Schools of Music.
