Bachelor of Arts in Music. Four years. Emphases in general music, performance, composition, music history, theory, aural skills, choral and instrumental conducting. Bachelor of Music Education. Four years. Studies may include programs in Dalcroze, Orff and Kodály methods and techniques, choral and instrumental conducting, music technology. Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Four years. May be taken with an emphasis on music.

A private liberal arts university associated with the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod. It can trace its history back to 1864. The music department is housed in Kretzmann Hall with some fine performance spaces and a well-equipped computer lab. The Center for Church Music was established in 2010. It holds the Carl Schalk Hymnody Collection of over 530 volumes including Lutheran hymnals in English, German, Norwegian and Swedish, as well as first editions from early American printers and publishers. There are five pipe organs on campus and 34 pianos. A Preparatory and Community Piano Program offers music tuition to children and interested members of the local community.
