Institution Notes:

A state-supported university founded in 1895. The College of Visual and Performing Arts offers programs in art, music theatre and dance. Facilities include fine performing spaces, state-of-the-art computer music studios and a large collection of percussion instruments (drums, steel pans, gamelan, marimbas, vibraphones, xylophones, chimes, orchestra bells, cymbals, tam-tams, gongs, West African drums and assorted Brazilian and Asian drums and hand instruments). The School of Music organises a Community School of the Arts offering music tuition to children and interested members of the community. Member of the National Association of Schools of Music.
