Institution Notes:

A private college founded in 1909, exclusively devoted to music education. It is housed in a two-story building located on the campus of the Illinois Institute of Technology. A continuing education program provides in-service courses for music educators in the field. The College was a co-founder and is a regular participant in the Mid-West International Band and Orchestra Clinic (usually numbering over 10,000 participants). The music library holds the complete set of cornet compositions and books by the college's founder, H A VanderCook as well as the Ruth Artman Sheet Music Collection of songs, spirituals, mini-musicals, revues and the like. The College organises a Community Music Academy offering music programs to children and interested adults. There is also a continuing education program 'Music Education Center of America'. Member of the National Association of Schools of Music.
