It comprises a Music Conservatory and a Theatre Conservatory. The professional training program in Orchestral Studies features many of the principals of the Chicago Symphony Orchestra and the voice faculty includes a number of former professionals from the Metropolitan Opera in New York. Facilities include a number of fine performing spaces, well-equipped technology laboratories and electro-acoustic music facilities. The library has an extensive music archive of documents, publications, student theses and recordings of the Music Conservatory, some dating from the nineteenth century. Operas are produced each year.
