Institution Notes:
The University was founded in 1869 as a teachers’ college. The School of Music is housed in Altgeld Hall with state-of-the-art facilities. There is a Center for Experimental Music. The School organises a Community Music School offering music tuition to children and interested members of there local community as well as a Kindermusik program for newborns to children aged seven. There is an Egyptian Suzuki School for violin, viola, ‘cello, guitar and piano. Member of the National Association of Schools of Music.
