Institution Notes:
The university was founded in 1906, but only opened to ‘young ladies’ in 1913. It became co-educational in 1950. There is an active opera program. Associated with the University is the South Georgia String Project, a community outreach program providing access to string instruction to children. Member of the University System of Georgia.
