Institution Notes:
This private university was founded in 1873 and is a Georgia Baptist Institution. Formerly known as Shorter College, it gained its current name and status in 2010. The music department is a Kawai EPIC school which owns a Javanese gamelan. There is an extensive program in music and theatre at the annual Summer Arts Institute. Member of the National Association of Schools of Music.
