Details:
Church Music Diplomas B & C. Part-time training for church musicians - cantors, singers, organists, choir trainers. Programs are given at elementary level (one year), basic level (two years, training to level C), and advanced level (two years, training to level B). Studies in choral conducting, organ, piano, voice, improvisation, composition, theory, liturgy, early music, church music composition. The focus is upon 'New Spiritual Song'.
Institution Notes:
The Conservatory was established in 1991. Its full name is Konservatorium für Kirchenmusik der Diözese Sankt Pölten. In addition to the classical church music studies the Conservatory offers the Austria-unique training program 'Lied-Messe-Oratorium' for those whose primary interest is vocal music.
