Details:
Bachelor of Arts in Music. Four years. Emphases in performance (classical, jazz), choral conducting, composition, church music. Studies include music history, theory, aural skills, music of African Americans.
Institution Notes:
A four-year independent historically black fully accredited liberal arts college for African-American men, founded in 1867. It forms part of the Atlanta University Center (a consortium of five separate historically black colleges in Georgia that share cross-registration for students and a central library). The music department is housed in the Ray Charles Performing Arts Center. Students wishing to take music education programs may do so through Spelman College. Member of the National Association of Schools of Music.
