Details:
Bachelor of Arts in Music. Four years. Studies include performance (classical, jazz), jazz studies, music history, theory, aural skills, commercial composition, church music.
Institution Notes:
An historically black university affiliated with the United Methodist Church. In 1988 two institutions, Atlanta University and Clark College merged to form the current university which forms part of the Atlanta University Center - a consortium of five separate historically black colleges that share cross-registration for students and a central library. The members are Morehouse College, Morehouse School of Medicine, Spelman College, Clark Atlanta University, and the Interdenominational Theological Center. The Department of Music has established a Music Academy, an Honor Society for its most promising and aspiring students.
