The New World School of the Arts is sponsored jointly by Miami-Dade Public Schools, Miami-Dade College and the University of Florida which awards its Bachelor’s degrees. It was founded in 1984 and occupies premises at the Wolfson campus of Miami Dade College. The School offers programs in dance, music, theatre and visual arts. There is an active opera program. Entry is by audition and for gifted students may begin as early as Grade 9 of secondary schooling and may continue through to Bachelor degree levels. Member of the National Association of Schools of Music.
