Institution Notes:
An historically black private university founded in 1904 and gained its current name and status in 2007. There is some affiliation with the United Methodist Church. Facilities include the 3,000-seat Mary McLeod Bethune Performing Arts Centre, a centre for technology in music education and an audio-logic recording studio. There are links with the National Opera Association, the National Association of Teachers of Singing, the College Band Directors National Association and the Music Educators National Conference.
