Institution Notes:

The University can trace its history back to 1870. It gained its current name and status in 1957 and is the flagship university of the Colorado State University System. Facilities at the Department of Music in the University Center for the Arts include the Edna Rizley Griffin Concert Hall and several other fine performance spaces. The School of the Arts is associated with the Center for Biomedical Research in Music which consists of three divisions: Neuroscience Research Laboratory, the Robert F Unkefer Academy of Neurologic Music Therapy, and the Neurologic Music Therapy Clinic. The University houses the newly-formed Charles and Reta Talph Opera Center, which allows music students to gain experience in opera performance.
