Church Music Diplomas B & C. Programs are given at elementary level (one year), basic level (two years, training to level C), and advanced level (two years, training to level B). Studies in performance (organ, piano, voice), Gregorian chant, choral conducting, choral repertoire, history of church music, improvisation, pedagogy.
Institution Notes:
This private music school was established in 1989 with the aim of training church musicians. Its full name is Konservatorium für Kirchenmusik der Diözese Graz-Seckau. Facilities include two two-manual organs, a positive organ and three pianos. There is a preparatory course for those wishing to enter the professional program. An elementary school is attached to the Konservatorium enabling students to gain practical experience in music teaching classes.
