California State Polytechnic University is one of only six polytechnic universities in USA. It was established in 1938 and gained its current name and status in 1972. The Department of Music was established in 1963 and is an All-Steinway School. A musical theatre workshop enables students of any year or program to participate in its annual production. The University forms part of the California State University system.
