Institution Notes:

A private Catholic liberal arts university, founded in 1868 by the Sisters of the Holy Names of Jesus and Mary. The music department, housed in the Kennedy Arts Center, specialises in performance, piano pedagogy and in Kodály philosophy and method. A preparatory music department offers both traditional and Suzuki-based instruction in performance and theory to interested children and adults, at the same time offering pedagogy experience for college students. There is an extensive summer program of teacher training using the Kodály approach. The library holds a significant collection of folk song transcriptions and recordings.
